So I wanted to update everyone after my faint positive on Friday. I retested this morning and got a darker positive! So thanks for all your support. We’re going to wait til 12 weeks before we tell anyone. That will be Christmas week. I’m so excited as I have the perfect way to tell my parents, and I’ve been dreaming about doing this since we started TTC last October. I’m going to have a baby bib made that says “I Love My Granddaddy”. I’m going to wrap it up and put it under the tree and try to sit still while he opens it. My dad loves babies and this will be his first grandchild. So, just a word of encouragement to TTC’ers. We’ve been TTC x 1 year and finally went to see an RE. She had us do Clomid, injectible Follistim, and IUI. It worked on the first try! I also tried acupuncture after hearing about Swiftfire’s success. She’s now 8 weeks pregnant and had been TTC x 14 months. The first month she tried acupuncture, she got pregnant. I was inspired by her story so I tried it (3 days before IUI, 1 day after, and 7 days after) and I have my BFP. So try it! It really can help!
To fulfill my obligation to Y!A, when does it stop being surreal? And does anyone know when the not so nice symptoms (morning sickness) start? Thanks for everyone’s support. Baby Dust to you!!!
My in-laws are starting to get crazy (well, they’ve always been control freaks) about my pregnancy, and I’d love some input on how to respond to them.
I am 41 weeks and 1 day pregnant with our first baby. I’ve taken lots of childbirth classes and done a lot of research throughout the pregnancy, and apparently it is perfectly normal for first pregnancies to go an average of ten days past the due date. Although tired and really ready for it to be over already, I am not worried at all and don’t feel like a freak of nature. I’ve tried acupuncture, herbs, walking and sex to get it move along, but nothing’s worked. This leads me to believe that the baby is just not yet totally ready.
My blood pressure is stellar, and this morning my non-stress test showed a healthy, active baby with a great heartbeat and activity level. I have ample amniotic fluid, and my placenta has a little bit of calcification but just looks like an “at-term” placenta.
I have had sever problems with my menstruation, have had all sorts of tests done, do not have PCOS either, everything is perfect but still keep missing my period befor january i didnt have a period for a year, january period was induced by progesterone challenge 10mg for 7 days(period was january 20-25th), used progesterone cream february had a period february 16th-21st, still have not had period this month have had tender nipples this past week, negative pregnancy test..
My height is 5’2-5’3 and i weight in between 106-108 is this underweight??????What else could i do?? hubby and i would like to conceive..
Have seen a gyno he did nothing because i have had all the tests done already
I have also tried OVULEX (big waste of time and money)
Have tried natural herbs such as vitex, female toner, red clover, acupuncture and their herbs ect nothing is working..I JUST WANT A BABY why is this so hard. I’m very upset:(
Thesis: Trying to write a formal persuasive essay
Acupuncture should be recognized as viable healthcare and therefore should be retained in health insurance policies because of helping patients with infertilities, illnesses and with certain pains.
Thank you, I really want it to be a strong thesis.
A little background info: Today is cycle day 18 for me. I tend to ovulate between days 17-19. I had EWCM on cycle day 16 (I know it was not semen because we hadn’t bd’d in a few days). My fertility monitor did not detect it, yet when I read the sticks the line was darker than normal but not as dark as the test line-this issue with this is that I ordered these sticks online and when UPS delivered them they placed them in a spot I never look so they ended up spending the night outside and it was in the 30s! They could have been damaged. I took an ovulation test yesterday and the line was dark but not as dark as the test line. Today my temperature jumped above the coverline to 98.1 and it had been 97.5 for the past two days (indicative of an estrogen surge that accompanies an LH surge). So, do you think I ovulated and the test sticks are just damaged? I also just started acupuncture and that could have sped up my ovulation as well. I only had ovulation paids on the night of CD 16 and part of the day yesterday (CD 17). Usually this pain lasts 2-3 days. Any insights?
I meant to type ovulation “pains” not ovulation “paids” sorry for the type!
Momwanna: They usually work for me, that’s the strange part. Maybe you have a really short LH surge. The surges can last anywhere from 6-48 hours. I think mine tends to be longer…so either these tests are faulty because of being outdoors or the acupuncture really sped up the ovulation process for me. I am hoping it is the latter…
The fertility monitor has worked for me for the last 5 months, but not this month.

At first I wasn’t even going to think about breastfeeding because I get horrible migraines but during pregnancy they have been under control with acupuncture and no meds. So my husband and I talked about it and we decided that I would try it until I got a migraine and then I should start taking my medication again so I can care for baby and not be in bed with a migraine for a week.
My plan if I decided to breastfeed was to nurse during the day but at night offer her a bottle that way my husband could help and bond with her too feeding her. But last night we went to a breastfeeding class at our hospital and they said while baby is in the hospital and if we are planning on breastfeeding they will not allow baby to have a bottle or even a pacifier & once we take baby home we shouldn’t give her a bottle or a pacifier for at least her first 2 weeks of life. But I see on shows like “Bringing Home Baby” that the hospital will tell moms to bottle feed until their milk comes in & that kind of things. So I guess my question is did you both nipple & bottle feed? Did it work out? Did your baby get confused? Because if I can’t bottle feed her at night I don’t think I want to nurse because I want my husband to be able to help as much as possible and he agrees he wants to be able to have that bonding experience with her as well.
I have been off all migraine medication since finding out I was pregnant. I have an appointment with my neurologist on 2/22. The main reason for this appointment is to get safe medicine for baby because my previous medication was not safe for me to use if I was pregnant or breastfeed.
Hi all
I wanted to share some of the tips I used this month to fall pregnant.
1 – Listen to self hypno cd’s, to relax yourself. You can get TTC ones.
2 – Take robitussin cough medicine a week before you are due to ovulate and up until you ovulate. Your cervical mucus may be too thick, I really think this helped me because my infertility was unexplained. This gave me LOADS of ewcm. I had a terrible chest infection so I was taking a lot of this!
3 – If you can afford it, try acupuncture, I was having it every 2 weeks for about 2 months.
