In addition to erroneous TCM general information, there are also many typos in the book. I am not counting typos as incorrect information. Some fundamental TCM information is not correct. Perhaps it was lost in translation.

I did a weekend seminar with Dr. Xhang in 2005, and she told us about the book. I recently bought it, and it was a good review of her course. The course itself is too loaded with information, so this is a great way to clarify some of the finer points.

This is a very nice addition to my academic library. I am currently an acupuncture student and the topic of facial rejuvenation is not part of the curriculum, yet. (Hoping someday it will. There are certified programs in the rise.) So, it leaves the student to look for the information to feed themselves. With that said, this book can be best understood by someone in a Master’s Program of Acupuncture within their 3rd yr and beyond. If you have a good grasp of meridians, acupuncture techniques, herbs and herbal formulas, you will enjoy this book, but someone just starting out or not having the latter knowledge may feel lost. It is well written. It has a brief review on the 5 elements, Zang Fu and as well as Qi and Blood, then it dives into techniques, nutrition, herbs and qi gong exercises.

You have to read the whole book in order to appreciate it. I find it very informative and interesting. Lots of very valuable information, including herbs and dietary advises. Some people don’t like needles in the face; book offers lots of different alternatives like gua sha, jade roller, moxa and the skincare line of products.

A great book full of practical wisdom, and a strange subject… So, what is a ” Facial Rejuvenation” anyway? According to Ping Zhang, it is defined as “a heritage of Traditional Chinese Medicine in its field”. As a Korea Oriental Medical Doctor with more than seven years experience, I looked at this book with interest.
I recommend this book. Read it, and then go make a difference for someone.
