Many people believe that it does. Acupuncture can reduce stress, which in turn can boost fertility. You can also use acupressure massage, which can be done at home, to help. I recommend “The Infertility Cure” by Dr. Randine Lewis, which suggests certain pressure points that can be stimulated through acupressure or acupuncture to help fertility. Good luck!
Many people do believe it works. It definitely can not hurt. Many doctors now recommend that their patients who are under going fertility treatments also go for acupuncture.
A German study done in 2002 showed that of the 80 women who underwent IVF and received acupuncture, 34 women got pregnant, a success rate of 42.5%. Of the 80 women involved in the study who received IVF without any acupuncture treatments, only 21 women (26.3%) became pregnant. More recently, an American study involving 114 women showed that 51% of the women who had acupuncture and IVF treatments became pregnant versus only 36% of the women who had IVF alone. Deeper analysis of this study revealed that, while 8% of the women in the acupuncture group miscarried, the rate of miscarriage in the IVF-only group was 20%. Furthermore, women who received acupuncture also had lower rates of ectopic pregnancies.
Read the book, The Infertility Cure by Randine Lewis. The book discusses Chinese medicine, diet, herbs and acupuncture to increase fertility and promote a healthy pregnancy.
it depends on what you fertility issue is. it will probably not work for anything structural or inherent(genetic like pcos). it can help release and move positive energy through the body. it has documented success for women going through IVF b/c it probably relaxes the body.
chinese herbs have a bit more documented success.
both are mild and results can take months to see even if it does work.
the infertility cure is goo book if you want to explore this option.
i tried acupuncture and it did not work. i wasted lots of time and money. i have pcos.
i’m not knocking acupuncture b/c it has worked for me for other things like sinus issues and a urinary tract issue i had once.
Hi , yes acupuncture could probably assist your current condition for both husband and wife , it can assist with the regulation of hormones with in the body which are essential to be i correct working order . And as stated prior , can assist with relaxation ( calming sympathetic nervous system). It is also advisable to combine with herbal medicine and good life style changes to increase the chances. For added benefit let the male take same zinc, vitamin e and Q10 co-enzyme combination to increase sperm quality and quantitative amounts
