Has anybody used acupuncture for fertility?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 7 months now and my periods were always irregular and painful when I did get them! My breasts were sore and I would get bad cramps and a week of spotting before my period was due. Also my ovulation was off…WAY off. So I have been seeing an acupuncturist for 2 months now to try and help regulate my periods and for fertility and I think It’s working, although she said to give it atleast 3 months. My question is, Has anyone else experienced similar issues and gotten acupuncture, and what was the outcome? Also when and if you did get pregnant, did the acupuncture help alot with the symptoms that come along with pregnancy?
I have seen changes, It really is amazing how soon you see changes even though they tell you to be patient and give it 3 months! There is a good chance I may be pregnant as we speak although I am giving it another week before I test! I really do HIGHLY recommend acupuncture for infertility!

I just bought a fertility book from a woman in my company who credits 3 of her pregnancies to chinese acupuncture. In fact, I hadn’t really heard much about it until she told me. She said she directly credits her two children (one recently born) and the one from her miscarriage to acupuncture. I’m considering it myself!
I am kind of in the same boat you are. I am taking metformin for my pcos but also seeing an acupuncturist. I have been going for about 6 weeks and I am in my 2ww now. I initally started going for fertility because I had a miscarriage in December at 8weeks. I did not have to have a d&c. My body is completely back to normal and ovulation is normal…so if all goes well I will be sending you a msg beginning of March with HUGE words of encouragement!
I have not personally tried acupuncture, however I responded to tell you this. My very close friend is a DR of chinese medicine. She has had amazing results with her patients doing acupuncture. I mean amazing! She did say around the 3 month mark is usually when you see the best results and it only gets better the longer you do it.
As far as pregnancy symptoms, I would venture to guess it will help. I get acupuncture for migraines and it has helped more than any other med I have ever tried.
Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are responsible for my pregnancy. I tried for several years and did 3 IVF cycles with blocked tubes. All 3 of my IVFs failed. That was devastating. I ended up embarking on an intense regimen of Chinese herbs and acupuncture and eventually conceived. I felt noticeably healthier as well. Good luck.
