I love this book because it is small but has so much in it. I know I will read it countless times to make sure that I have absorbed every detail. It will definitely be helpful in my future practice.

Very limited in the numbers of points used. There is no conceptual or methodical explanation for the points selected. Very interesting that she uses the same treatments for multiple ailments. I have no regrets in reading and purchasing this material. But then again, I read everything on acupuncture that I can get a hold of. It shall remain in my acupuncture library.

This book of less than 100 pages has captured my heart and imagination. I am impressed with her story as a woman, a first-generation immigrant, and a successful leader outside of mainstream western medicine who inspired her patients, open-minded MDs, researchers and universities to join in her efforts to legalize acupuncture in the US. She clearly managed to maintain her wisdom, passion, and integrity after being arrested and blocked by California’s presiding governor at the time — Ronald Reagan. But I am even more deeply impressed by her persistent dedication and humility as a healer which illuminate the pages of this succinct little book. Her voice skillfully blends the stories of her patients with the logic behind her use of a select collection of powerful points she learned to favor (particularly 5 points from the Tai Yin/Yang Ming meridians – ST-36, SP-6, LI-4, LI-11 and LU-7). She describes how these could be quickly employed to treat many disorders, so that she could concentrate her deeper energies and discoveries for more difficult or demanding problems.
The first time I read it, I was supposed to be studying for an exam on other material for a medical acupuncture course — but I couldn’t put it down and return to the required stuff until I finished. It was a deeply refreshing and inspiring breeze. The fact that I’ve been drawn back to it several times as a reference, and now again to read it from cover to cover after I’ve gained more experience, tells me it will be a “keeper” in my library.
I wish I had the opportunity to learn from her directly. However, it was a delightful perk shortly after reading her book to work with a friend and client who years ago was treated in California by Miriam Lee. Decades later she still remembered the experience with admiration.
There is a lot of useful information packed into this book that can flourish long past the author’s death: including theory, techniques and more importantly a healer’s heart and soul.

What a great addition to all the other acupunture study material. She only uses 7 acu-points for every major/minor problem she comes across. I used her book for acupressure points when my daughter got a fever of 104. after using her points the fever went down to 101 in 20 minutes. Amazing!
