starting my first IVF cycle, what are the chances itll work the first time?!?
im 24, perfectly healthy. male factor issues and using donor sperm with ICSI. i will begin Lupron on the 13th this month, stopping BCP (ocella) on the 18th and continue with the Lupron until the 25th when i decrease my dose to 5units instead of 10 and begin my gonadotropins (bravelle 2amps/menopur 1amp) my baseline ultra snd is the 22nd, and ive been having fertility acupuncture done once a week for about a month now. i eat well and do fertility yoga too….positive thinking and whatnot…i dont think theres anything more i cld possibly do to increase my chances of this working the first time?! but if you know of any feel free to chime in!!! oh! and i have been on a prenatal for months! we started trying in Dec 09′ with IUI’s which i rly thought was our ticket to parenthood, weeell 7 IUI’s pills, shots later…still nothing. Ive had an HSG done that came bk all good. had my CD3 blood work done to chk E2 levels which also came back “great” says my RE. i guess im just nervous, impatient and everything in between!!! trying my best to stay calm and positive!! anybody else doing IVF this month? i cant wait to get this show on the road!!!

IVF is really easy and not bad at all. I just did my first IVF and got a positive pregnancy test, but then miscarried three days later. We have low sperm count too, but used my husband’s sperm with ICSI
We has 14 eggs retrived, 13 injected with ICSI, 8 fertilize, and 8 live until day 5. We transferred two, and three were good enough to be frozen.
Now i’m planning to transfer my three frozen babies! If it doesn’t work I’m doing IVF again as soon as I can.
Just relax and trust your dr’s ! Good luck
Hi!
I can completely understand what you have been going through!. My husband & I are both 32 years old. He has no issues, but turns out that I have poor egg quality. I have eggs, but should have more for my age using the stimulating drugs.
We TTC naturally for a year before turning to an infertility specialist. I had also been through 5 iui’s-2 using clomid & 3 others using injectables, 1 failed IVF with a perfect embryo transferred & 2 previous cycles after cancelled & converted to iui’s b/c of poor response due to the meds. I finally made it to my 2nd IVF this past June. I had a great cycle & bloodwork has been great. I had five fertilized eggs & in two days I find out if it has been successful!
Good luck to you! It is a trying experience, to mention all the injections, meds, pain, hormones, etc!
I have a great feeling that this will be my lucky weekend & can celebrate this 4th of July with a BANG! Literally, lol.
The advice that I can give is to stay positive & pray:)
Sending you TONS OF BABY DUST & pray that we both get our miracle! XXXX
