Hi all

I wanted to share some of the tips I used this month to fall pregnant.

1 – Listen to self hypno cd’s, to relax yourself. You can get TTC ones.

2 – Take robitussin cough medicine a week before you are due to ovulate and up until you ovulate. Your cervical mucus may be too thick, I really think this helped me because my infertility was unexplained. This gave me LOADS of ewcm. I had a terrible chest infection so I was taking a lot of this!

3 – If you can afford it, try acupuncture, I was having it every 2 weeks for about 2 months.

4 – Stay somewhere else, we stayed away by the sea the wkend we got pregnant, sometimes it does you good to be away from home in an exciting new place!

5 – If you have been trying over a year, try to get refered for a laparoscopy, I had one last month and fell right away. I think it cleared my tubes and gave me a spring clean.

Anyway, good luck everyone, I know how hard it is, I really do.

Keep wishing on that star, I know I did.

I have been TTC 13 months, am 25, very healthy, totally regular, my partner is 25, sperm count fine. Just took us 13 months for some reason xxx GOOD LUCK

the best time to get pregnant

One of the most frequently asked questions about pregnancy is the best time to get pregnant. It is neither the Christmas time nor the Valentine’s Day. One needs to be good in mathematics if one is serious about getting pregnant as it totally depends on the ovulating days. Now the question arises that how should one calculate this crucial time? For people who are good in mathematics need not worry but others should get hold of an Ovulation Calculator.

It is important to have some knowledge about one’s own body and its functioning in order to find out the probable dates of ovulation. The ‘post ovulation time’ or the ‘Luteal Phase’ is the period between ovulation and the first day of the menstrual cycle. This period consists of fourteen days and is the same for most women. After fourteen days of the ovulation the period starts. Now what one needs to know is the date due for the next period. By counting back twelve to sixteen days from this date, one is likely to get the days of ovulation. Generally, women who have a cycle of twenty eight days, ovulate on the fourteenth day. Since this is so important to know in order to get pregnant, the ovulation date can also be checked through the BBT technique or the Basal Body Temperature. This is a method that involves the recording of vaginal temperature every morning by a BBT thermometer (with a fine calibration). The thermometer displays a higher temperature on the day of ovulation that the other days.

To explain this fact in a simpler way, the egg starts developing from the end of the menstrual cycle and between the 8th to 12th days it is at its maximum. So the chance to get pregnant is the most if one has intercourse on the 8th, the 10th and the 12th day. This is the most effective time to get pregnant. One shocking fact related to getting pregnant is that the egg lives only for a period of 12 to 16 hours in a cycle! Many gynecologists are of the opinion that the life span of the egg ranges from 12 to 24 hours. But the fertility experts say that it is likely to wither away within 15 to 16 hours. So it is important to hit it at the correct time!

Now its time to shift the focus from the Woman to the Man! If a couple has intercourse on regular basis, it is likely that the strength of the sperms may lack the desired force and the sperm count may also be less than it is required for the fertility level. In addition, the rate of sperm motility may also be hampered. Again, if the sexual union is not so frequent, there are chances that the sperms may become stale and old, making it lack its desired vitality. According to the opinion of the fertility experts, coitus should take place twice weekly for the best result.

It is surprising that tough the female ovum dies within such a short period, the male sperm survives and moves about from 2 to 5 days within the vaginal canal. Keeping this fact in mind, it may be fruitful to have intercourse a couple of days earlier than the date of ovulation, so that the sperm gets plenty of opportunities to hit the egg.

It is important here to point out that following all the above mentioned guidelines may not be enough for getting pregnant. For further assistance, one may turn to holistic remedies that helps find out the actual cause of a problem if there is any and then suggests a remedy that is accurate. These remedies are of a wide range that includes Chinese medications to acupuncture, from exercise to helpful herbs, from lifestyle changes to a healthy and balances diet. Unlike the age-old, conventional therapies which mostly fail, the holistic remedies almost always give the desired results.

If you’re just starting out you’re probably learning all you can about the field of acupuncture for a career and all about acupuncture schools and how you’re going to pay for it. You’ll need to learn how and where you can earn a certificate or degree in acupuncture and what it’s like to work in the field of acupuncture all at a reasonable or low cost. Besides licensing you can also be certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Practitioners who have this certification can use the title Diplomate of Acupuncture. The professional abbreviation is Dipl.Ac.

Check to see if your state is on the national list of about 50 acupuncture schools with accredited programs if you don’t know already. California have many acupuncture schools to choose from, while Wisconsin has only one school; some states have no schools. It’s important to get a good picture of all the treatments that are offered by the acupuncture school so that you acquire the skills needed to be well-rounded and well-versed for your patients.

Depending on the school, students may be required to study herbal medicine or may be offered herbal courses as electives. Acupuncture school education and training requirements can total from between 2500 to 4000 credit hours. It’s best to choose an acupuncture school that offers an extensive library focused on traditional Chinese medicine.

Once you’ve picked the school it’s important that you have a wide selection of study resources available so you can have all the literature that is essential for a broad learning experience. Acupuncture schools sometimes offer the science and philosophy of acupuncture too. And you want to find an acupuncture school that offers smaller classes.

Acupuncture is particularly effective at relieving or treating chronic muscle pain, stress, and PMS just to name a few symptoms. It’s also used for arthritis, headaches, migraine headaches, quitting smoking, weight loss, fertility, fibromyalgia, depression, insomnia, face lifts as in facial acupuncture, back pain, high blood pressure, pregnancy, cosmetic purposes, anxiety, Crohn’s disease and asthma. There is also a veterinary acupuncture branch for dogs and other animals.

If you need financial aid try contacting local philanthropic organizations and health organizations to see if they know of any scholarships available. Sometimes these organizations actually have scholarship money leftover that is unused and will accept an application for it. Talk to the financial aid officers at the school and see what suggestions they have for grants, scholarships and federal aid.

There is federal money available for education. Also there is money set aside for online degree programs. Check and see if your school has any of its classes available online and if so apply for these funds. There are education loans and student loans available if you are unable to get full or partial scholarships or grants.

Each state and each discipline has its own strict rules about how alternative medicine practitioners are to be professionally licensed. Take a look at the acupuncture schools in your state first. Naturally it will considerably cut down on your expenses if you can attend school closer to home. If you visit an acupuncture practitioner to learn more before you commit to acupuncture as a career, make sure to choose one who is licensed by a nationally recognized acupuncture organization.

Also, in order to qualify for federal aid make sure to enroll in a school that’s accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). The internships in acupuncture take place in acupuncture clinics or clinical settings, usually in the third year of school. Also if you have an acupuncture school or naturopathic school in your area, email or give them a call; they’ll know the licensing requirements. Or check with your state’s professional licensing division to see if licensure is required in the state you plan to practice in.
