One of the major causes of infertility and IVF failure is a thin uterine lining, inadequate blood flow to the uterus, i.e. low uterine artery pulsatility index. Treatment to increase blood flow is essential to improving fertility and reducing chances of miscarriage. It should be noted that stress, lack of exercise, not enough rest, lack of joy, and certain foods all can inhibit blood flow to the uterus and ovaries. The following are effective treatments for a thin endometrial lining;
Acupuncture. An area of research, as well as my own experience, has shown extreme effectiveness with acupuncture and its affect on the increase of blood flow to the reproductive organs (uterus, ovaries, testis). This may very well be a primary reason that acupuncture displays benefit to women going through IVF fertility treatments in Vancouver. Simply, blood bring the medications to the ovaries and uterus, and if the flow is unimpeded, then more IVF medications arrive at their intended destination which results in better responses and positive outcomes.

I am desperately TTC. I’m 38 and my husband is 42. We had an ectopic pg last January. We’ve been trying for 2 years. It’s incredibly upsetting and life just doesn’t seem “normal” because of this dying need to want to be parents. My fertility checks out okay…but there is the issue of low sperm count. The one thing I’m recently concerned about is the fact that I have periods for only 3-4 days and I’m never very heavy. My QUESTION is this: what can I do to enhance a thick uterine lining??? I’ll do ANYTHING! Thank you so much to anyone who might be able to help. I really appreciate it.

Uterine Fibroids, also referred to as fibromyomas, leiomyomas or myomas, are typically benign or non-cancerous tumors in the uterus. These growths generally develop during a woman’s childbearing years, and so may affect women in their 30s and 40s. Some Uterine Fibroids develop below the smooth muscle lining (myometrium) of the uterus, while some grow between the muscles of the uterus. Typically, one single cell continually reproduces, developing in an abnormal mass. The fibroids are characterized by pale growth, which is firm and rubbery. The growths, or tumors, may vary in size, and either grow as a single nodule, or in clusters.
Uterine Fibroids are among the most common tumors among women, and affect up 25-50% of women (according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists). 70% of women are diagnosed with having at least one uterine fibroid in their lifetime.

Kidney yang is important in assisting liver in transforming yin phrase to the yang phrase. As the yang rises to certain degree, it stimulates the softness of the uterine lining for the potential fertilized egg implantation. If the kidney yang is deficiency, it may not rise enough to support the luteal phrase in providing the suitable environment for egg implantation as a result of uterine lining out of phrase and yang phrase defect.
I. Causes
1. Colding effect
Eating cold foods for a prolonged period of time will cause kidney yang deficiency. Cold foods are yin in nature, after entering the stomach, our body needs to provide more yang to digest it that depletes the yang qi.
